How to watch Wizards vs. Magic home opener originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington
The NBA season has returned, kicking things off earlier in the week and unofficially starting with a great slate of games on Christmas Day.
The Wizards played a few days prior to the holiday, tipping off their season with a close loss in Philadelphia. Now, they’ve returned home and are ready to host the Orlando Magic in their home opener.
Of course, the home opener will look a little different, as all games do this year. No fans will be in the arena to take on the new-look Wizards, but they will still be cheering on from home.
The Wizards lost a hard-fought game that could have gone either way against the 76ers. Russell Westbrook shined in his debut with the team, becoming the first player in franchise history to record a triple-double in his first game. Bradley Beal also picked up right where he left off, dropping 31 points.
Washington will need more help from its role players, though rookie lottery pick Deni Avdija impressed in his debut, as well. The Wizards are still without last year’s rookie, Rui Hachimura, who will miss a few more weeks with an eye issue.
The Magic are one of the teams the Wizards will be fighting against for a postseason spot this year, so this is an important early game in the nation’s capital. Here’s everything you need to know about how to watch.
