Due to the injury to center Rudy Gobert in November, things got off to a slow start in Salt Lake City in 2017. However, upon his return, the Defensive Player of the Year was instrumental in the Jazz finishing the season 29-6 and as one of the top defensive teams in the NBA.
The duo of Gobert and Derrick Favors proved to be successful last year, as they outscored opponents by 8.6 points per 100 possessions when they shared the court, per NBA.com. With Donovan Mitchell catching fire after the All-Star break, Royce O’Neale stepping up in the playoffs, and a healthy Dante Exum, there are plenty of reasons to be excited about the upcoming campaign.
